Making sure cars are
roadworthy is a big part of the registration
system. It’s also about protecting people -
every vehicle must be registered to be covered
by compulsory third party insurance. This
insurance makes sure that everyone is covered
for personal injury if someone is hurt in a
crash.
Here’s the rundown on what the different
roadworthiness inspections, and how to make sure
you’re covered.
Pre-purchase
Vehicle Inspections
This is a fully comprehensive inspection report
which includes a complete check of the vehicle.
The inspection involves a thorough jacked up
examination of all mechanical components and
also the bodywork, paintwork and under
structure, for evidence of any damage or
unsatisfactory repair work.
The interior and electrical components are
checked and the vehicle’s electronic control
unit checked for any fault codes followed by a
road test. If you are buying a second hand car
and don't want to be stuck with a lemon then why
